Product Overview

Features

21 GHz bandwidth when used with InfiniiMax Ultra MX0025A, 12 GHz bandwidth when used with 1169B

Very low loading effect (0.21 pF - about the same as the N5381B solder-in probe)

Ground spring helps keep the probe's frequency response constant at different span settings

Thumbwheel control span adjustable from 0 mm to 3 mm

Comes with browser probe, 40 replaceable probe tips, protective caps and anti-static tweezers

Compatible with InfiniiMax I (1130B/31B/32B/34B) and InfiniiMax II amplifiers (1168B/69B)

With the N2839A differential browser probe, you can achieve measurement fidelity that rivals solder-in probes even when you hand-hold the probe. When used with the InfiniiMax Ultra MX0025A RC probe amplifier, the N2839A provides 21 GHz of bandwidth, making it a handheld browser probe solution ideal for measuring high-speed differential or single-ended signals.

The N2839A's probes ensure a secure connection to the device under test. The probe can be adjusted with a thumbwheel to conveniently detect targets spaced 0 to 3 mm apart. If the probe is accidentally damaged, it can be replaced easily and quickly. A low-inductance ground spring ensures that the probe's frequency response remains constant regardless of the span setting.

Unlike traditional point probes in its class, the N2839A has ultra-low probe loading effects. As signal speeds increase, the capacitive element at the probe input becomes the dominant factor in determining probe loading effects. The larger the input capacitance, the greater the load the probe brings to the device under test; the higher the measured frequency, the greater the impact of the probe on the measurement results. The N2839A has a low input capacitance of 0.21 pF, which is comparable to solder-in probes, minimizing the impact of the probe on high-speed signal measurements.

Starting shipping in late June 2019 (serial numbers US5900xxxx or higher), we have added 20 solid probes to the standard N2839A and N2837A configurations for a total of 40 probes in a kit (i.e. 20 spring probes and 20 solid probes). The new solid probe is a bit stronger than the spring probe.

For engineers designing and debugging the latest interface standards, the N2839A InfiniiMax II differential browser probe, 21 GHz offers the highest accuracy and signal integrity in the industry.
