N1021B Differential Time Domain Reflectometer and Time Domain Transmission Probe Kit Details

The N1021B is an ergonomically designed handheld Probe that connects TDR/TDT modules to printed circuit boards (PCBs) and components in the absence of common coaxial high-frequency connectors. A built-in roller allows adjustment of the differential probe pitch to make good contact with pads or access points with pitches ranging from zero to typical IC pin pitch (2.54 mm).

Engineers working with high-speed differential electrical channels can analyze the device under test (DUT) where caused reflections adversely affect the signal integrity (SI) of the design. Printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturers can control process consistency from batch to batch and find shorts, opens or other defects.

The N1021B Probe can be used with DCA-X Broadband Oscilloscopes, 54754A Differential and Single-Ended TDR-TDT Modules, and the N1055A 35/50 GHz 2/4 Port TDR/TDT Remote Sampling Probe Front End. The N1021B Probe sends small electrical step signals to the device under test (DUT), and/or receives response signals. Oscilloscopes process and display response Signals in the time domain, or as S-parameters (SDD11, SDD22, SDD21 or SDD22). Time-domain Measurement results can show reflected Voltage or observed impedance as a function of time or distance. S-parameter Measurement results include amplitude, phase and group delay.
